Test TOEFL And IELTS

When registering for study abroad, you will be asked to give a TOEFL English language proficiency test (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or IELTS (International English Language Testing System). This is to ensure that your ability to read, speak and write in English is enough to take part in university studies later. However, because both tests tested the same thing, many students were confused about which test they should take. Read the comparison between the TOEFL test and the following IELTS test to get more information about these two tests.

The fee to pay for taking the TOEFL test is $ 175 and for IELTS, the test fee is $ 195.

3. How to take a test

In general, the TOEFL test in question is TOEFL iBT (Internet Based Test) where you will be asked to record all your answers on a computer. For the IELTS test, all answers will be handwritten, and the 'speaking section' section will be directly assessed by the person who will hear your answer.

4. Test methods

The latest TOEFL iBT test has a maximum value of 120, where each section (Reading, Listening, Speaking, Writing) each has a value of 30 which will be accumulated. The IELTS test assesses each section with a score of 0-9, which will be leveled for the final score on a scale of 0-9.0

The reading section on the TOEFL test will give around 3-5 reading texts followed by multiple choice questions. While in IELTS, you will get 3 reading texts with mixed questions.

7. Speaking section
